Sunday Slate: NFL Week 15 Odds, Picks, and Game Previews

by | Dec 18, 2022 | Football

There are only four more weeks of the NFL and we should savor every jaw dropping moment. As we all know too well, once it’s gone, we can’t wait to have it back. This seasons increased parody has led to a dog fight for division titles and wildcard spots, we’ll see more of that play out this week. To get you ready for Sunday our experts have scoured the slate for the best NFL Week 15 odds and betting picks.

Detroit Lions (-103) at New York Jets (-114) – Sunday, 1:00PM EST

Detroit visits the New York Jets for a chance to extend their win streak to three on Sunday. They were impressive against the Vikings last week and have won 5 out of their last 6 games. Quarterback Jared Goff and his offense go up against a top 10 defense, but it’s nothing they can’t handle. The Lions are ranked 5th in points per game, 4th in total yards, and Goff is having a career year with the help of a multitude of weapons.

Detroit Lions Notable Injuries: DE Aiden Hutchinson (Q), CB Mike Hughes (Q), DE Michael Brockers (Q)

New York received bad news when Mike White was ruled out with a fractured rib, and they’ll certainly feel the downgrade at the quarterback position. The good news for the Jets is that they’re facing one of the worst defenses in the league. If Zach Wilson can take care of the ball, the offense should be able to move the ball. The Jets game plan will be to establish the run game with running back Zonovan Knight to open the play-action. If the Lions jump out to a lead and Wilson has the air the ball out, it might get ugly for New York.

Jets Notable Injuries: DT Quinnen Williams (Q), QB Mike White (O), WR Corey Davis (O)

Detroit Lions’ vs New York Jets NFL Week 15 Odds and Picks

Detroit has been on a tear lately, and without Mike White, the Jets just can’t keep up with the Lions offense. Detroit will get to .500 and find themselves in a solid spot to make a wildcard run later in the year.

Final Score: Detroit 27- New York 23

Wicked Wager – Lions -1 (-112)

Wicked Player Prop – Jamaal Williams First Touchdown Scorer (+550)

Philadelphia Eagles (-400) at Chicago Bears (+325) – Sunday, 1:00PM EST

The Eagles offense has been absolutely rolling, and they’ve scored more than 35 points in each of their last 3 games. Quarterback Jalen Hurts has been carrying the offense and this week should have another monster game against a Bears defense who ranks 30th in points allowed. Against the run, the Bears rank 27th, so you can expect a heavy dose of running back Miles Sanders. Hurts is known to do damage with his legs, so Chicago will have to worry about him on both the ground and through the air.

Eagles Notable Injuries: TE Dallas Goedert (Q)S C.J. Gardner-Johnson (O), Reed Blankenship (O)

Chicago comes into this game fresh off a bye week and Justin Fields had an extra week to rest his injured shoulder. This is a huge factor considering he’s racked up the most rush yards as a quarterback. If the Bears have any shot at upsetting the Eagles, they’ll have to do it via the run. They rank 1st in rush yards per game and the Eagles have been gashed on the ground at times. If the Bears can keep the ball out of Hurts’ hands, they might have a chance. If the Eagles get ahead and eliminate the run game from the Bears playbook, it’ll be a long afternoon for Chicago.

Bears Notable Injuries: WR N’Keal Harry (Q), WR Chase Claypool (O), S Eddie Jackson (O)

Philadelphia Eagles’ vs Chicago Bears NFL Week 15 Odds and Picks

Jalen Hurts has simply been too good to not pick them this week, and the Eagles offense puts up another 35+ points on Sunday. As great as Justin Fields has been this season, he doesn’t have enough weapons on offense to be able to keep up with Philly.

Final Score: Philadelphia 35 – Chicago 24

Wicked Wagers – Eagles -9 (-112) / Over 48.5 (-112)

Wicked Player Prop – Justin Fields Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+540)

Dallas Cowboys (-200) at Jacksonville Jaguars (+175) – Sunday, 1:00 PM EST

If it weren’t for some late game heroics, the Cowboys would have been upset in week 14. This week, they face tougher opposition, and they’ll have to be better on both sides of the ball if they want to move on to 11-4. Dak Prescott should be able to air the ball out against a defense that is bottom 5 in passing yards allowed per game. Jacksonville is just average against the run, but the Cowboys have done a great job at establishing the ground game with running backs Ezekiel Elliot and Tony Pollard.

Dallas Cowboys Notable Injuries: DE Dorance Armstrong (Q), OT Terence Steele (O), DT Johnathan Hankins

The Jaguars are only 5-8, but at times they’ve looked impressive. Trevor Lawrence has bounced back after a rocky rookie year and looks like the franchise quarterback Jacksonville’s front office thought he’d be. The Cowboys have been susceptible to the run, and if the Jaguars can get Travis Etienne Jr. going, it might spell trouble for Dallas. Lawrence had a huge stat line last week against the Titans, and he’ll have another solid game on Sunday.

Jacksonville Jaguars Notable Injuries: LB Chad Luma (Q), QB Trevor Lawrence (Q), LB Travon Walker (Q)

1. Jaguars Defense   2. Jaguars Wide Receivers

Dallas Cowboys’ vs Jacksonville Jaguars NFL Week 15 Odds and Picks

I predicted a Jaguars upset over the Titans last week, and I’m predicting another one. Dallas has a habit of looking uninspired on the defensive side of the ball, and Jacksonville will jump out to an early lead that they won’t relinquish.

Final Score: Jacksonville 27 – Dallas 24

Wicked Wager – Jaguars ML (+175)

Wicked Player Prop – Ezekiel Elliot First Touchdown Scorer (+650)

Arizona Cardinals (+105) at Denver Broncos (-125) – Sunday, 4:05 PM EST

It was announced shortly after Monday Night’s loss that quarterback Kyler Murray had suffered a Torn ACL in the opening series of the game. The Cardinals had to then turn to Colt McCoy, who was able to move the ball but had trouble finding the endzone. McCoy’s next test will be against a talented Denver Broncos defense.

Colt McCoy is going to have his hands full this Sunday. The Broncos are 4th in the league in points allowed and should be able to handle the Cardinals backup. We’ll see if McCoy can prove people wrong on Sunday.

Arizona Cardinals Notable Injuries: G Rashaad Coward (Q), DE Zach Allen (O), CB Byron Murphy (O)

The Broncos 2022-2023 campaign couldn’t have gone worse to this point. They’ve managed to clinch a double-digit loss season with 4 games remaining. With Russell Wilson concussed, they’ll have to turn to third year quarterback Brett Rypien. Denver fans will be hoping he can surprise the same way Brock Purdy has in San Francisco.

The Bronco’s receiving core is banged up and will need guys to step up for their backup quarterback. The Cardinals have a poor passing defense which should allow Jerry Jeudy to be heavily targeted. Expect around 15 targets for the wideout and for the Cardinals defense to give him some extra attention.

Denver Broncos Notable Injuries: QB Russell Wilson (O), WR Kendall Hinton (O), WR Courtland Sutton (O)

The Broncos will come away with their first home win since September as Brett Rypien does just enough to outduel Colt McCoy. The loss will help the Cardinals rise further up the draft board.

Wicked Wager – Broncos -1.5 (-113)

Wicked Player Prop – Colt McCoy Total Passing Yards Under 205.5 (-115)

Cincinnati Bengals (-195) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+165) – Sunday, 4:25 PM EST

The Bengals will be red hot when they head into Tampa this Sunday. They’re winners of five in a row and finally look like Super Bowl contenders again. Meanwhile, Joe Burrow is set to make his first start against Tom Brady. Many have compared the Bengals quarterback to the future Hall of Famer but he still has a long way to go.

Joe Mixon should get a lot of carries in this one. The Buccaneers running defense is suspect and will be something that Zac Taylor and his staff will look to exploit. Mixon could end up in the 20-25 carry range if things go well. If not, we’ll see Joe Burrow drop back in the pocket all day long.

Cincinnati Bengals Notable Injuries: DE Trey Hendrickson (O), TE Hayden Hurst (O), CB Mike Hilton (O)

The Buccaneers are coming off a brutal defeat at the hands of the 49ers. Tampa has not looked like the team they were for the prior two years, yet they still own sole possession atop the NFC South. The Bucs have been especially poor against top competition. This Sunday will be another chance to change that.

The biggest matchup in this game is between Tom Brady and Joe Burrow. Some people are looking at this matchup as one where the torch gets passed. Brady will be looking to say otherwise, as his team looks to pick up wins before the playoffs begin.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Notable Injuries: WR Julio Jones (Q), OT Tristan Wirfs (Q), DT Vita Vea (O)

Cincinnati Bengals vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers NFL Week 15 Odds and Picks

The Bengals will make it six straight as they send the reigning NFC South champs two games under .500. Ja’Marr Chase explodes in the second half, leading fantasy owners across the country into the postseason.

Wicked Wagers – Bengals -3.5 (-110) / Over 45 (-110)

Wicked Player Prop – Ja’Marr Chase Longest Reception Over 26.5 Yards (-115)

New York Giants (+180) at Washington Commanders (-210) – Sunday, 8:20 PM EST

The Giants are currently riding a four game winless streak. The drought has put them in the NFC East cellar, yet they still hold a playoff spot. They will need more from running back Saquon Barkley who has underperformed during his team’s drought. He’ll need to lead an offense that is dying for a spark.

The Giants need Daniel Jones to step up. There’s been questions regarding his future as the guy under center in New York. Winning games like this are what go a long way in winning over the fanbase. The Commanders defense, led by a solid pass rush, will be hoping to cause him problems.

New York Giants Notable Injuries: CB Adoree Jackson (O), TE Daniel Bellinger (Q), DE Leonard Williams (Q)

In an extremely odd circumstance the Commanders will be playing the Giants in back to back regular season games. Only a bye week separated the two games for Washington, who last picked up a 20-20 tie in the Meadowlands. Taylor Heinicke has been rolling, which is good for a team attempting to separate themselves from their division rivals.

Terry McLaurin will look to have himself a breakout game this Sunday. The Giants secondary was unable to neutralize him two weeks ago. With Taylor Heinicke gaining steam, McLaurin will try to go for an even bigger game.

Washington Commanders Notable injuries: DE Chase Young (Q)

These two teams have been going in opposite directions and that will continue on Sunday. Taylor Heinicke will make his mark, throwing for three touchdowns. On the other side, Saquon Barkley will get back into form but the Commanders will pull away late and close this one out.

Final Score: Washington 31 – New York 21

Wicked Wagers – Commanders -4.5 (-110) / Over 40.5 (-110)

Wicked Player Prop – Taylor Heinicke Total Passing Touchdowns Over 1.5 (+133)
