Game Preview

What better way for Russel Wilson to start the season than leading his new squad into Seattle to battle his former team. Wilson won Super Bowl XLVIII with the Seahawks and will be feeling the love from the Seattle faithful before kickoff. Once that ball hits the air, he’ll be looking to get his new team off to a fast start.

Seattle has a fresh start at quarterback as Geno Smith looks to replicate the success of his predecessor, Russel Wilson. Smith comes into the Monday night matchup with a career record of 19-26. One positive note for Smith is that he doesn’t lack weapons. Seattle went out and acquired tight end Noah Fant from yes you guessed it, the Denver Broncos. Fant will surely be looking to do some damage against his former team. Lining up at wide receiver still is Tyler Lockett and All-Pro DK Metcalf. Smith also has a decent backfield behind him in Rashaad Penny and second round draft pick, Kenneth Walker III.

Seattle finished last place in a stacked NFC West division last season. They really weren’t competitive at all posting a 7-10 record and finishing 3 games behind the 3rd place 49ers. They returned All-Pro safety in Jamal Adams, but Adams won’t be enough to contain the Denver passing game.

Seattle Seahawks Notable Injuries – Alton Robinson (Out)

Denver is coming off a rough season that saw them go 7-10 and finish last place in the AFC West. Unlike Seattle, Denver upgraded at the quarterback position, and big time. The Broncos’ biggest issue last season was their quarterback play. They have plenty of weapons on the offensive side of the ball. Between Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy and KJ Hamler, Russel Wilson will have his options. The future Hall of Fame quarterback is poised to play at an MVP level again and has the team to do it. Denver is loaded and will definitely make a run at the AFC West title this season.

The Broncos defense should be ecstatic about this season. They are no slouch themselves and now they have an offense that is going to put points on the board. The team went out and signed defensive lineman DJ Jones in the offseason. Jones was their best pickup on the defensive side of the ball. They have a big gap to fill as they still haven’t filled the void that Von Miller left with his departure. All in all, they will be just fine and look for them to surprise this year.

Denver Broncos Notable Injuries – Josey Jewll (out)

Seahawks Broncos Fantasy Football Information

Russel Wilson is a must start QB1 all season and especially against his former team in Seattle. Jerry Jeudy must be salivating to have a quarterback like Wilson throwing him the ball. Look for him to have a huge opening game in Seattle.

As for the Seahawks, DK Metcalf is always a must start. Having Geno Smith throwing him the ball may have you on edge, but Metcalf is still going to get his. Smith will look to throw to him on a regular basis. Metcalf should be the only Hawk in your starting lineup against Denver.

Broncos at Seahawks Prediction

Denver comes in as a 6.5-point favorite. The emotions will be high for Russel Wilson in pregame but expect him to settle in quick. Wilson goes for 275+ passing yards and 3 Touchdowns as Denver cruises to a 1-0 record.
